Create invisible hyperlinks on your PowerPoint slides

If hyperlink text makes your slides look crowded and ugly, try this simple trick. With a little help from PowerPoint's drawing tools, your links can blend in with the rest of the text.

Hyperlinks make it easy to jump from one place to another when you're delivering a slide show. But PowerPoint formats link text differently from the rest of your slide text. If you find the difference distracting, most likely your audience will too.

Eliminate that distraction as follows:

  • Enter the text you want to link.
  • Select the Rectangle button on the Drawing toolbar and create an AutoShape that covers just the text. Don't make it too large. (In PowerPoint 2007, choose a shape from the Illustrations group on the Insert tab.)
  • Select the AutoShape and click the Insert Hyperlink button on the Standard toolbar. (In PowerPoint 2007, you'll find Hyperlink in the Links group on the Insert menu.)
  • When PowerPoint opens the dialog box, enter the hyperlink in the Address text box and then click OK.
  • Right-click the AutoShape and choose Format AutoShape. Set the fill color to No Fill and the line color to No Line and click OK.

Now you can see the invisible AutoShape is really the link and not the text.

Make a Updated Windows XP Installation CD

By far the most customizable OS is Windows XP। And if you are one of those people who find that due to installing and uninstalling of software and fiddling with them, your Windows performance become slower, then the best way out is a format + Windows Reinstall। Specially after running the trial versions of games, Antivirus software makes the Windows registry a depository। It is always easier to format a Windows than to tweak the Windows Registry. But main disadvantages with the formatting are to download and install all the updates all over again.

Ever thought of making a Window XP Installation CD including all the latest Updates and Hotfixes as well as all the latest goodies like IE-7 and WMP-11। Here is the simplest way to make it your own latest Windows XP CD.

Get the Integrating software from
RyanVM -743 KB for 1.4.3 Version and 991 KB for 1.5 RC1 Version
or
nLite – 2.42 MB
Tips
Your Antivirus may forbid you from downloading the software. So first disable the Antivirus and Internet Security if any. Don’t be panic. They are not viruses.

Get the latest Update Pack from
RyanVM's XP post SP2 update pack -50 MB
or
Xable's XP post SP2 lite update pack -21 MB
Tips
Remember that these are the XP post SP-2 packs. If you are having XP Service Pack-1 Installation CD with you than you need to download the Service Pack-2 for Windows XP from
Microsoft site

You can SlipStream the SP2 to your Windows SP-1 CD first by slipstreamer or directly by nLite। But RyanVM integrator can not make it from SP-1.

You can add the updates, your basic drivers such as the Motherboard, Audio, graphics, Modem, LAN etc.. You can add your favorite programme like IE-7, WMP-11, (You don’t have to go through the validation process again for that) Antivirus like Free AVG, Opera, Firefox and a lot more. You can find them in the ADDON page from
nLite Addon Page
or
RyanVM Addon Page

Though you can use any of the Integrator but I like Ryanvm Integrator। Because it does not require any installation, rather it runs directly। You can select your choice। Next step is to either install the nlite or Just run RyanVM Integrator। The details on how to do this are depicted in their site। Go through them carefully. The most important thing in the whole process

1. Update Packs that you have to download is very large and they are hosted as the Torrent files, which make them difficult to download with slow internet connection, and can’t be resumed in download managers. They just have to be downloaded at one time.
2. If you are using any PC 2-3 years or more old than the integration process may be extremely slow and may take up to 1 hour. But it is pretty faster with the Core 2 Duo.

Fell free to discuss about your problem. If you find any problem in making your Disc then you can order your customized one from me. I will charge you only postage and the Disc cost.
